Cover your eyes, everyone – well, not really, just keep them half-closed and then take a look at these photos from last night's MTV Europe Music Awards. There were plenty of goodies to choose from, and a more detailed account of the star-studded event which took place in Munich will follow shortly – but for now, feast your eyes (kidding – it's actually not a very pleasant sight) on two of the night's most shocking appearances, put in by Amy Winehouse (and her drugged-out husband) and Nelly Furtado.
Now, I would definitely not be putting these two names together in the same sentence – or rather, I would not have thought there would come a day when I would put Nelly Furtado and our beloved Wino together – but these are desperate circumstances. Fashion circumstances, that is – or rather circumstances that have to do with looks and hair color choices. But I'm sure you already had a look at the photos and seen what I'm talking about.
Nelly, it seems, has decide to go blonde – and if I were her, I would definitely be firing or killing my personal stylist just about now. Don't get me wrong – she may get away with the Greek goddess dress and the rest of the outfit (in fact, they seem to work just fine for her build, figure and skin color) but the hair is simply a different story altogether. I must admit, had not the photo been captioned I would not have recognized her – and I'm not even joking. The "blonde, slightly curly" routine simply doesn't work in Nelly's case, and makes the "Say It Right" singe look about 20 years older – not to mention that it comes in complete contradiction with the energetic musical style that has re-launched her career and made her immensely popular again.I'm sorry to say this, but it's true – she sort of looks like Dina Lohan, and that's never a compliment, just in case you still had any doubts. In her old hair 'do, Nelly used to cut an exotic figure. The brunette look made her more refined, defined the contour of her face better and complemented her skin color, giving her an overall youthful appearance, which is now completely gone. And even though Nelly won the prize for Album of the Year, she's definitely getting no points in the "looks" department.
